Until the early last century, the whole population wore it, now it is exhibithed during the main holidays and in the important ceremonies (weddings, baptisms, popular shows).

If the male costume has mostly characteristc of sobriety and simplicity (it has a white embroidery shirt, the cloth white pants, a orbace (rough woollen cloth) jacket with decorations of red silk and velvet and black orbace heavy stockings), splendid and complex is the female dress. (see photo) Three superimposed petticoats made of orbace and silk (sar vestes), of green and dark red colours, the silk blouse richly worked, the little jacket with silk embroidery (su zippone) the yellow silk veil (su lionzu) wich hides and on the same time evidences the face, and the wonderful stole interwoven with stylized floral motifs of vivid colours, (s’antalena), are an irrestible attraction to see, when they are shown in all their beauty.
